I wonder if she found something particularly exciting, or just has to speak loudly to break the hold the brain-eating amoeba has on Cueball?

I suspect the latter. The amoeba sneaks in through Cueball's ears to gain its hold over his brain, so Megan rightly deduces that producing a high-volume sound directed at him will jostle the eardrum enough to dislodge the amoeba.... until later.

Mmm. Cool.

On the facebug note, there are far too many insects outside now.... it's getting annoying. It's hot inside, but if I open the window then I'm plagued by insects for the next couple hours. If I go outside, little bugs land on me. Ugh. *flails* Yesterday at work there was a bug in the room and the buzzing absolutely drove me insane, I couldn't concentrate at all because I was constantly flinching when it got louder. Sigh.

This is the second time beloved NPB has mentioned maskalonges. Either he is trying to tell us something about their location, or it's some fish's birthday today. Or something.

Predicition: this is the big river.

charlie_grumbles wrote:But it is getting wider. What will they do at the joining? Turn right or back upstream?

Well, first admire the waterfall for a while. Then? Maybe ford the river¹⁰ (the river³ is almost certainly too wide to ford), or turn back a little bit until they get to a place where they can ford it (like the last scene).

Edit: [prediction=false]They'll be a rickety old bridge over the river¹⁰ at the point where it meets the river³ (with a waterfall¹¹). Doesn't look safe, they'll debate for 5 newpix whether they should cross it, and eventually do. Nothing happens.[/prediction]
charlie_grumbles wrote:WoodpeckerMolpy on tree?

Looks like it. We'll never know for sure, you need to frames to detect a molpy.

a: it's not really a camera as we know it, as it takes a 2½-D ‘slice’, not a regular perspective picture.

Ooo. A Muskie jumpin' outta da stream. Big un.

muskie jumping

Actually, a stream this size is more likely to have pickerel. Pound for pound even more fight. And more bones. Tasty if you can avoid the bones, tho.

Not like blessed chocolate.

It's an exponential scale, actually.

Muskie = 2pike
Pike = 2pickerel

Size only. Reversed for fight and bones. Teeth like razors all.

They're looking at me... Should I be alarmed?

Getting closer to the waterfall... The river¹⁰ definitely seems to be going more rapidly, in any case.
Megan was gone for only 4 newpix, so, assuming the relation between Inside time and newpix is constant (which it almost certainly isn't), she can't have been more than 2½ frames away. So, the next newpix we might be able to see what Megan saw.

Good catch from BlitzGirl that they left their backpacks behind. They'll have to move back, and will probably cross the river¹⁰ there.

My letting agents decided to throw an end of exams party right outside my window, without telling me. The music42c sang the word "Hey!" exactly as I read the ong. It's all connected

Edit: not sure how the GLR will have drawn this. The water is black, the rocks are black, might be hard to see anything.

There's a mention of Madagascar in this OtherComic.

It's all related.

Nice waterfall!
