Oh, neat! I wouldn't have heard it if you hadn't mentioned it, Jose. Gives the newslide so much more depth. I like the hover text, too. ;)

Doh, wow! Yeah I didn't notice it at first either. Mainly because my internets are mustarded to chirp right now and it took forever to load the audio so I'd already seen the frame and closed it before it got the chance to start. Thanks for pointing it out, Jose!

If the OTSoundtrack is still a work in progress, it might be worth a look.

Despite it being a really treeish project, it's basically on hold right now because of other heretical outside stuff I need to be doing instead. But thanks, I'll bear it in mind, even though I've given up on the idea of dynamic music (too ambitious).

I noticed. I saved F5ed and loaded to get the newpixbot price back from 2 to 1 so I could buy 2 but it jumped to 377 castles. Something with greed and sin and stuff.

*checks spreadsheet*
Yep that's a valid value :D (no I don't have the Fibonacci numbers memorised yet.)

Question and appriciation:
Spoiler:
Hmm, am I correct that it's not wise to ninja the newpixbot? Ninjaing it gives only 2.2 sand, while letting it get the newpix gives me 13 castles at the moment.

I must say, I am starting to appreciate the intricate way sand and castles work. You can't buy "bigger buckets" unless you have enough sand per newpix to get the sand per castle ratio over 500. Same with the rest of the boosts. This has given me some pain in my right arm because I really wanted bigger buckets and later huge buckets. It's wowterfull.

speaking of Fibonacci, perhaps you should add the following equations to make the typing a little easier:
=if(B4=1,M4,if(B4=2,N4,round((N4*$L$2^(B4)+M4*$L$2^(B4-1))/sqrt(5))))
Image

Where column M would have the first price the tool starts with N would have the 2nd price

My Friend Karen, the Foreign Insect

Postby Eternal Density » Thu Sep 26, 2013 10:52 pm UTC

My brain just started putting "we iz redundants" where the words "we are the champions" belong :o mrob27, that's "not bad at all" :D

ETA I'm changing the javascript for ALL the boosts from this:

Code: Select all

new Molpy.Boost('Flag Bearer','Flags are more powerful',5500,8, 'Each flag produces 2 extra sand/mNP, before multipliers','flagbearer');
to this

Code: Select all

new Molpy.Boost({name:'Flag Bearer',desc:'Flags are more powerful',sand:5500,castles:8,stats:'Each flag produces 2 extra sand/mNP, before multipliers',icon:'flagbearer'});
because the number of optional parameters is steadily increasing and it's started to get a bit messy and hard to tell what the numbers mean :p

I don't know if there is a way to detect a source code view, but "Have you noticed the Javascript?" would be an awesome badge!

@ED: are the odds of winning 50/50 for double or nothing? (and does that change?) I seem to be loosing a lot more lately.

I should have saved some older versions of the page before you made the boosts weaker...

Did I mess a Pope decree? (I meant to type 'miss' but the mustard is more steakish). Don't tell me, I can figure it out. Damn!

"Didn't I tell you not to curse?"

Do I go back and slip this into the past?
"Don't edit the past."
"Duh - dis here's da middle ages! It's already the past!"

Dat's enough!
Dere are more important things to say!

(btw, cool Middle Ages icon ZoomanSP!)

@ergman - Wowtreeish! Don't ever try to tell anybody you are not like unto a baobab! That was an awesomeful manip!
@mrob27 - Another baobab! Not only was it touching and beautiful, but I also learned where the original "boom de yada" song came from. You and Timborme are leaving a fantabulous gospel!
@Purplepants77 - good to hear from you. The future may refuse to change, but it also refuses to stop. Nonetheless, we will be here waiting for you upon your Glorious Arrival!
@k.bookbinder and @SBN - I tried to set the stupid slider but I couldn't get it to work. Maybe I'm just too dumb.

@ucim You are not too dumb. I do not think the proper Control Panel is available for general release. It is a shame, really. Many, many ID ten T errors where I work.

Phew, thanks for the reminder! Got mine in 3 minutes before the ONG :P

I'm not too good at the whole ninja stealth, I think my max streak is 4...which, as it happens, is my current streak. Usually I forget or leave it on overnight.
Fortunately nothing too major relies on it yet. And once you get in the longpix and get Active Ninja and Hope/Penance it should be easier.
Also I guess your clock is a bit behind mine.

Also,

Code: Select all

### 0.9995
- VITSSÅGEN, JA! is more powerful
- Swedish Chef unlocks a bit sooner
- more boost group names
- a trebuchet boost
- a ladder boost
Enjoy!

@Purplepants77 - just got to hear your "Mother" otty - wowterful!

btw, the mrob27 original (campground) "boom de yada" song took a little trickery for me to get to play. The link that works for me is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgC0uHJVTts
The other (given) link left me with a player that did not respond. Maybe something with no-script.

So I was thinking about what to add for a new timetravel boost or a ninja boost when I noticed I had the following randomly generated book title from here: "An Elaborate Tale on the Subject of Ninjas, Surgeons and Time Travel"
I'm still not going to have time travelling ninjas though. Because I wouldn't know what boost group to put it in.

Already in longpix, for a while now actually. Newpix 527. Just got Ninja Stealth and unlocked Stealthy bot, which should help a little. How far is it to the next boost?

ETA: Oh, and general question to all: anyone here play DnD? Specifically 4th Edition? Trying to get a local group started but none of us have played before and we're utterly lost in terms of what we actually need to start out with.

Does it resemble The Realm of Darthon in any way? Not that I play it. I'm just curious.

PS. Gibraltar is now officially in S3 status.

I went to a DnD session once, but I wasn't actually playing, I was more on the DM's side. I voiced some NPCs and drew some characters for them. I was gonna have a bigger role as a villain but we didn't get to it in time. I realize this doesn't help you at all, but you brought it up.

I used to play, rather casually, many years ago. Unless you can find an experienced DM to introduce, and guide you through 4th edition you would probably do well to just getting your hands on the 4th Edition Player's Guide, and diving in. Use online resources to get a few starter dungeons to run your characters through until you become comfortable with the 4th edition rules, and game play.

That was pretty much what we were planning to do, I just don't want to spend $20 on a book that I'll use once and then set aside collecting dust (looking at amazon reviews for a few books, it seems a few of the "starter kits" for 4E are like this - good to get started with, but useless for later play). Hoping I can find someone who knows what they're doing but if not, I guess I'll just go with what looks most useful.

I think the player guide will always be useful, even as an experienced player. It is always good to have as a reliable reference. So if you do decide to purchase a copy it will likely be worth it. I would not actually spend money on a starter kit since there should be plenty of free online resources for that kind of stuff. I have even known players to save money and not buy dice, but instead to use a dice roll program, though I always felt that was a counter to the whole table-top experience. Perhaps I should dig around in my old files to see if I still have any resources.
