about dem chinese and welsh dragons, they look very different. Dragon could just be an approximate translation.

For decree: I'm with ED - probably part of the reason why dragons are "known" worldwide is because dinosaur fossils can be found worldwide.
That said, dragons as a concept are pretty awesomeful.

Anyway, my opinion of dragons:

1.- When choosing an online persona, some people pick animals. I know it, I picked a cat. Humans are somewhat boring. I even tend to skip Drawception prompts asking for humans, and am very happy when I'm asked to draw animals, which... is odd now that I mention it. Anyway, just wanted to point out how curious is lots of people pick dragons as their personas.

2.- I dislike there are LOTS of different species, and all of them are thrown in the "dragon" bag. Some have 4 limbs, some more than 4, some have only 2 legs. Some don't have legs and are basically long serpents with fancy heads, though I'm sure I've seen "dragons" that only have arms. Others have wings, but, basically, you can find all kinds of such combinations wingless and not, limbless and not, and even hornless and not. What makes a dragon being a dragon? I don't know, but sometimes 2 dragons will have nothing in common, so, yeah, I'd like if all those "dragons" were categorized and had distinct names because as it is it's like calling all panthers and leopards and lions and cheetahs and cats and tigers and stuff just "felines". I know they do, but one shouldn't have to become a dragonist just to learn each species' name.

    So I asked everyone to gather real close around the Chronotransponder, and we did the interview by Temporo-video-scopeTM. Following is the transcript:

Timborme, and imagebot, what're your theories?
Timborme : The Beanies know all about what's wrong with the sea and Megan and Cue are going to get some answers from somebody who maybe speaks their language. And maybe they'll be able to get help relocating the tents.

Pope AluisioASG : Where are our phoenixes and platypodes?
Timborme : Mrob27 recused himself, of course. The bots seem to think we're all the same, and by "we" I mean organic life forms. So I seem to be the only one who's been concerned with fauna-related clues to geography. I rejected Madagascar a while ago. Cassini-Earth is just ridiculous. Based on latitude 38.5o North we could be in North America or Europe or Asia somewhere. But it's like 11,000 years in the future, so it shouldn't matter that platypodes are only in Australia or Tasmania and phoenixes are only in Arizona.
    I think the biggest clue is that rising sea thing. How many times does the world get flooded in the next 11,000 years? Maybe Beardo is getting ready to build an ark, and Megan and Cue are going to get put on the ark along with pairs of molpies. Your missing molpies may have been lost in a previous flood.
    Mrob says he talked about dragons in an earlier Chronogram, and we got to talking about the missing cryptids and other exotic creatures. I didn't find much about phoenixes and platypodes, but there's a ton out on the Intertubes about unicorns. The prevailing theory seems to be that the unicorns on the Ark were both male. A close runner-up is that they missed the boat, though it's far more credible they were on time for boarding but had to Wait in the standby queue. Or perhaps the "unicorns" that boarded were impostors. But I think the best explanation is that the keyboard did it.

T This is mainly a note to @AluisioASG: Though I'm running the Tracker, I pre-laod pages so it's a bit off. Since the last Great Mustard I've pretty consistently been loading 6 extra NP ahead of where I actually am, so that if the 503's come again I'll have a little I can Blitz in full HTML style before I have to drop down to the nopixbot version. The upshot of this is it probably says we're at NP1122 when we're really at 1116.

  "they were both male": The Ark is at sea; two unicorns are on the top deck. One says "Hey sexy — looks like it's gonna be up to you and me to re-populate the Earth with unicorns, huh? By the way, I'm Greg — what was your name, sweetheart?" and the other replies "Arnold." (Maniac World, "What Happened to the Uncicorns?")
  "they missed the boat": Two unicorns standing in about a foot of water, one speaking to the other and captioned LOLcat-style: "I thought you said Noah's Ark was leaving at 5:00 PM?!?!?" (funnyjunk.com, "Unicorns and Noah's Arc [sic]"; subcaptioned "Dang it.")
  "they had to wait in the standby queue": The Ark is boarding, familiar animals walking two-by-two up the gangway. To the left, behind a sign that says "standby", the two unicorns sit, one nervously biting its nails (well, hoof really). Caption: "Most nerve-wracking place to Wait."   "they were impostors": At the edge of a forest, two unicorns lie bound and gagged under the trees. Two humans are getting into a pantomime horse suit with a unicorn horn on the head, and another pair of humans has already done so, walking towards the Ark which is boarding in the distance.   "the keyboard did it": (A Farside cartoon). Noah and four pairs of animals stand around what is presumably at least one dead unicorn (all we see are two stiff hoofed legs pointing skywards). The leopards keyboards look at each other nervously. Noah is speaking: "Well, so much for the unicorns ... but, from now on, all carnivores will be confined to 'C' deck." A close runner-up is that they missed the boat, though it's far more credible they were on time for boarding but had to Wait in the standby queue. Or perhaps the "unicorns" that boarded were impostors. But I think the best explanation is that the keyboard did it.

Hm, judging by the fact the question possibly references PhoenixRising, I think this was a basemental question.
