I was just popping in to post a thing I found (I'm getting rejected via spam filter) and got stuck reading a couple pages.

Y'all have gone past "jargon" and have started trespassing upon "dialect".

I am sure this is not an unusual reaction.

According to http://forums.xkcd.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=98046 spam filters apply if you have "fewer than 5 posts", or "until you have 5 posts", or until you have "more than 2 posts". Minor edit fail by the mods there. :) I bet that there's just a blanket restriction on all links.

I must have had two posts at the time of writing, and the jargon crack brought me up to three, allowing me to post a link. Science!

Krakow, 5 whole pages of ketchup! It's like the old days! (Except in the old days, that would be for one day, and a whole weekend gone would be an hour+ of ketchup).
Returned from the Med-wards Coast where I was checking out a couple Universe-ities, and visiting my grandmolpies. Didn't have a heck of a lot of free time between those things!

Some computer users shouldn't be using computers.
Some computer programmers shouldn't be writing public-facing programs.
Some tech support folks shouldn't be handling customer relationship.
I don't know why I wrote this.

Computer programmers and scientists only:
Anyway, being a luser is a good thing. It means you're not a mere passing ruser, fated to exist for only a few clock cycles. You'll last more than that.

(What I actually meant is I'm not a fan of that term either. We're all users, one way or another. And we got someone who fights for us.)

The customer (user) is always right. That's, like, the number one rule of business and things. If users are having trouble with your website, then you did something wrong. That's my take anyway.

That worked very well for me. The fun of telephone-type hotdogs is the change that occurs from iteration to iteration, and that one had it. My experience with it is that it often ends up with {description of x} {picture of x} {description of x} {picture of x} {description of x} {picture of x} {description of x} {picture of x} ... which is not all that much fun.

Treeish, in multiple senses of the term. Looks like the bones of one of our Eastern kin. Those guys really know how to make a party drag on, if you know what I mean.

AluisioASG wrote:Incidentally, I was wondering what field you intend to study. I don't recall why I was wondering this, though. Oh, the package. That must be it. I called my parents and they said it is bigger than I expected.

My intended major is Computer Science or EECS if the uni has a combined program, with a possible double major in Quantum Mechanical/Temporal Confluence Particle Dynamics. If the university I pick doesn't offer that (it's oddly difficult to find, even in the more advanced temporal planes - all the ones I've looked at only accept in-universe applicants) then I might do a Psychology or Math minor instead.

I'm sure I read something about that recently… oh yeah, it had a behemoth in it..

Well, there's always the "within reason" clause to any absolute law. Within reason.

The Zanclean Zodiac

The story goes that ᓭᐧᘈᖉᕋ was simply gathering nuts. One nut got away, rolling down a gentle slope. It stopped under the root of a dying tree. When ᓭᐧᘈᖉᕋ went to gather its last nut, it gnawed on that root so that it could reach it. Happily having retrieved the nut, ᓭᐧᘈᖉᕋ headed back to its lively tree. The dying tree, no longer stable, fells itself. It slowly began to roll down this gentle slope. Faster and faster it went until it is stopped by the biggest rock.

I am the only one who knows where to get pure cocoa truffles. Therefore I hereby title myself the PureCocoaTruffleProvider. Also, coffee grains covered in chocolate, but those are so expensive$5.60 I couldn't try them yet, and so are not to be used except on the gravest of the circumstances.

I just remembered that I've never mentioned that about ten yips ago I wrote a short story in which ginger is the active ingredient required for timetravel. It became a bit of an in-joke with a few people I know. Anyhow I figured I should share that information since its kinda related.

It worked in that sense, I'd just hoped for something a little more... I dunno, creative? than a digital clock.

I had something else interesting to say but I can't remember what just now.
