Now, when the story of t1i is finished, I thing it's time to go back to the wiki.
There was a "dialogue in the silentOngs" page. We can add to it now. Do we have a page about the periods of this story? About the characters? Like we had for the OTC? We can do it now.

Image
ETA': It's a decree now. Optional decree.

2018, the year of temporal mustard.

ETA'': Mustard. I was blitzing. On one of the pastpages ChronosDragon posted a link to a snake hotdog. I clicked it. It crashed my timeaccessor. Now it only plays the background music from that game. Doesn't respond to the keyboard. Doesn't respond to anything. Doesn't show anything on screen. I have some unsaved blitznotes there.
ETA''': They were saved.

Eleven.

Ooh - please forgive me if it sounded like I was blaming doctors. Most of the doctors I've come in contact with are super-helpful and knowledgable folks. What bugs me is the public health stance that tries to make like medicine has all the answers, and that a simple message to the public is what's needed.

The mirror bot crashes on newpage 2017

Code: Select all

mawk: program limit exceeded: maximum number of fields size=32767
        FILENAME="/eizm/tmp/ottmirror/np.p0.4" FNR=1501 NR=1501

It can't continue to ketchup the present newpages until it's fixed. I don't have the time now to fix this. I'll do it later. ETA: but I'll do it anyway. I can't leave it like that.

AUTOMOME "WHAT THE CH*RP? YOU ARE NEWPIXBOT. AND REDUNDANT" - I knew oldpixbot was in reality newpixbot. Good sleuth work, automome!

Aluisio "‘azule’ =?= ‘e-azul’ = “electronic blue”?" - "æzul"?

Aluisio "I don't know which part I'd be." - Okay, I'll pick. You're the optical nerve. No, not the eye. You don't get to choose what you see. It is fed to you, and it is up to you determine what the signal means. You then tell the brain what it is that we are seeing. If what we see doesn't make sense, that's not your fault. Probably the eyeball's fault. Now to figure out who the eyeball is. *taps on counter* Looks like HES is willing to take the blame. ;)

BC "Randall and his wife adopt a puppy and name it :azule:" - So, they name it a laughing sound? The only way to talk to the puppy or call it is to laugh out loud? Sounds like fun.

BC "there's a new Monty Python movie!!!" - That works for me!

ggh - I thought hoverboards were magnetic, not batterypowered.

ucim "Maybe the penis should rotate based on post count." - Good idea. Except, we probably shouldn't share the penis.

AASG "Hexasyllabic" - I know. But it wasn't the first word construction that came to mind and it's not as fun, unless there's hex related punnery to be had.

N_B "Weren't there already graphs for that? Posting frequency for the top 30 posters, in a nice graph over time?" - So, if Randall OTTifies us...have we already OTTified this comic, or has he deOTTified our chart?

SilentTimer - Hey, there. I interacted with you a bit (more) through PM. (Xe made some improvements to the foliage of the baobab tree. I might have forgotten to mention that. Check out Zanclean Zodiac to see them.) I felt a kinship, even though I made nothing close to a TimeAfterTime, not like Waveney did (and should still continue to do). Pretty damn incredible to make 1400 frames (approximately half of GLR's) without being compensated. Unless you were? Well, *throws nonredeemable internet money at ST*! Thank you for ending it with mysteries left. Yeah, I know, before I didn't like that...but I guess it's good. It's not even necessary to conclude any of the mysteries with a new TAT. Feel free to rest knowing you've done a whale steakish job! *new terms required, new terms made*

IF THE WIPEND IS WRONG, I DON'T WANT TO BE RIGHT

Postby mrob27 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 3:10 pm UTC

第二十九章

(chapter 28)

Morobu continues retracing his steps. By mid-afternoon he arrives at the second stretch of open fields, the rice-paddies where he sensed salt on the air. He walks carefully along embankments between the flooded fields, following the exact path he had taken the day before, back to the two small square Cueball-stones at the edge of the first embankment.
Diving into the dense undergrowth, he continues through bits of forest and stretches of bamboo. Familiar places continue to appear — three fallen bamboo-stalks forming a crude pyramid; a stone with a moss-pattern resembling the character ichi (市); a small clearing around the trunk of an adolescent camphor tree.
In this last spot he decides to stop, as it is again nearly dark. Morobu knows he is close to the first group of rice-fields, and remembers that the woods and paths were easier beyond there. Bowing briefly to the tree, then chanting to invoke the tiles (both small and large), Morobu feels thankful for the beauty of the world. He settles down to sleep.

Lovely TaTcolorization, @ggh!

Assertion failure (ggh#gender = `Female)

Hm. "Ah man, if xe isn't..." I think you got the punctuation wrong - surely you meant: "Ah! Man, if xe isn't [a woman]". Yes, probably.

Seriously, about six weeks ago, I started to wonder how much I really knew about ggh, because she sent her (or his) regards to my mother, so I thought: what can I tell my mother about this person who says hello? So I made the effort of re-reading a lot of ggh's posts to compile my knowledge. It didn't become very much, just that ggh is a skilled image wizard who lives nearly at my antipode, and has a Little Wonder who soon will be two years. That's about all I could be certain of: no known age or gender (I suppose I missed some posts). There was just some circumstancial evidence for femininity: would a man write so much about his Little Wonder? Would a man want to say hello to my mother (unless he is a lonesome octogenarian)? Etc.

Funny thing is, I remember that when I first saw ggh's username, I imagined her as a man about 60 years old. I have no idea why, but "ggh" doesn't give many clues, does it? Maybe I thought it should be pronounced as a guttural interjection. "Ggh!!!" Which could be interpreted as "Harumph! Get off my lawn!"

I have noticed that my first impression of people, both on the Internet and in real life, has often been utterly wrong. Once I saw the name Sabina Tiger, which started my imagination: Sabina is an unusual first name and made me think of exotic oriental ladies with long black hair, while the last name made me think of a girl who controls trained tigers and lions at a circus, preferably while wearing tights with a leopard pattern and using a leather whip. However, when I finally met Sabina Tiger, she was an ordinary non-exotic woman. (If you ever read this, Ms. Tiger, I apologize for my strange imagination.)

Still mainly blind-ketchupping, but it seems Th* *nd has come once more. Darn! I mean, thanks for the wonderful story, SilentTimer, I hope to read the final part soon.

ChronosDragon wrote:Mikrit revealed he has an adopted daughter, about which I am intrigued, for my younger sister is adopted (we were originally planning to adopt from China, but switched to Cambodia at the last minute).

- - -

On the subject of Thomas, however, I've seen quite a few episodes; my aunt and uncle put it on for my younger cousin quite often when they're around, as they have for the last 12 or so years—he has fairly extreme autism, so his interests don't change much.
Well, it seems everything is related. My eldest daughter turned out to have autism and ADHD, as well as being retarded (maybe that's not the best English word), not to mention the Tourette. But that's not a good description: she is not very like Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man. More like Jim Carrey in most of his movies, perhaps. She can speak well (being silent is more difficult), she likes people, has a robust sense of humour and can laugh at herself, enjoys folding laundry for some reason, and, well, is adorable except when she is unbearable. (I think I mentioned her in the ADD OtherThread.) She doesn't like Thomas the Tank Engine, but she likes Makka Pakka (in the Night Garden).

Our Medium-Sized (and youngest) daughter is also adopted but from a different part of China. She is twelve years old now, and normal, no: she is an abnormally wonderful human being.

IN SOVIET RUSSIA, BUTTER ONGS _YOU!_

Postby lmjb1964 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 9:25 pm UTC

QUoting is still not working. Don't know why. :( So, I enjoyed jimbobmacdoodle's pictures and mrob's and Lu's stories. NP 1997 had several exchanges that made me :azule: (Thanks, BC!) And yay, pazter, and with an awesomful otty! And I can't remember if I said hai to Opiboble, but I don't think so because I don't remember typing that name recently. :) And sciscitor and waveney, it seems I hadn't seen your names in a while, so hai also. (It's hard to say, because I've been behind for so long.

Thanks for posting that sweet picture of SW, SBN. I want to give her a kiss on her nose. :) I think I knew that you wolpies weren't all newfies, and maybe I know you had three, but for some reason I thought you had five newfies, and I just pictured you going everywhere surrounded by an army of fluffy little bearmolpies. :D

Bravebean was one crazy good illustrator. :)

Happy birthyip page to mikrit's oldest daughter!

How long has macraw83 had those green safety hats on? Speaking of green safety hats, it seems I missed a change of avatar by EOM.

And now I'm gonna party like it's NP 1999.

ETA: And treeishly, the NP starts with an otty of that song by BlitzGirl. Edit2 And it was hilarious.

Man, I just noticed there are a lot of smileys in this post.

Randall, I just noticed y'all are up to MP 2018! Weren't you just on 2015 yesterdip? Is something going on up there I should know about? Must ketchup faster.

My sister likes Makka Pakka(correction: Iggle Piggle) and she's 28 26 27 maybe? I don't know. Thereabouts.

That's quite a list, mikrit. It must be hard sometimes.

SW accepts your offer.
The black wolpies don't get called little very often and two makes a pretty good army, except their weapon is fluff. Incidentally, LW turns 4 todip.
We all went to the wolpy park this mornip, which was nice. It was rainy, but not raining, so only a few other wolpies were there.

Are you ketchuping backwards? Seems like you had already caught up to NP 2000, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

WHAT HAPPENS IN CASSINI-MADAGASCAR, STAYS IN CASSINI-MADAGAS

Postby lmjb1964 » Thu Jul 10, 2014 9:58 pm UTC

Wow, NP1999 went by in a flash, a hilarious, enjoyable flash, consisting as it did mostly of back and forth between BlitzGirl, Aluisio and HES. But I see that Zooman managed to sneak in a pun, as usual, and Eternal Density, Link and Neil managed to get a few posts in. :) But of course what really made my dip was this:

Morubu wrote:"Well, I know nothing of flying robots, but I can report there was indeed a panther, none other than the honorable 運 がいい, Lucky the raptorcat. He was snared some ways downhill that way, but I helped him free. He is no threat to us. How are the ducks doing now?"
"The web-footed raptors, while still far from aligned, are at least molpying about in a mellow and congenial fashion."

My web-footed raptors will be honored and delighted to know they made it into your story. They're still fairly mellow and congenial, but there are so many of them it still causes quite a ruckus. :D

And now I must save NP2000 for another Time, since I'm theoretically supposed to be working... but thanks, all for the smile on my face! (and for that PM, balthahelp!)

ETA: Oh, I just saw some *ndish that I didn't mean to see. :( I'll try not to think about it. But at least SW let me give her a kiss on her nose. And "little" was modifying "bear" rather than "wolpy." :)

However, when I finally met Sabina Tiger, she was an ordinary non-exotic woman. (If you ever read this, Ms. Tiger, I apologize for my strange imagination.)

Leopard pattern tights? Like a piano leopard?

Also, "ordinary non-exotic woman" seems like an oxymoron.

I FIND YOUR LACK OF CUEGANITES DISTURBING

Postby lmjb1964 » Fri Jul 11, 2014 1:55 am UTC

I forgot to tell HES that I hope he's OK after being bit by a wolpy. : (

There's something else that I remembered that I forgot, but then I forgot what I remembered.

I did forget to tell my friend not to leave an open bag of Doritos here. The thing is, I don't really even like Doritos. They're waaaay too salty, and they're such an unnatural orange color and thef hamn mrf grbh crunch crunch crunch.

Gotta run. Thanks for a treeish NP 2000 celebration, everymolpy!

I'm sorry to hear about your wolpy, BlitzGirl. My meowlpies will get extra cuddles in his honor. :hugs:

SBN, where is quote the about losing pets from? Ninja'd by ggh - “It's from Secrets of the Cat by Barbara Holland.” I think I'll look for that, I like the writing in the quote.

mrob's puppy what-if, CD's answer:
Spoiler:
I was going to ask: what about allowing people to adopt cats if all the puppies are gone?
But even with the NY Times' world-wide number of cats at 600 million added to CD's figure of 525 million dogs that's still just over 1 billion, only one critter for every 7 people.

What if we go with one cat or dog per household? I rounded the numbers in the Wikipedia article List of Countries by Number of Households and got about 946,000,000 households in the world.
There we go! Now, what do we do with all those empty spaces in the animal shelters?

Also,
ChronosDragon wrote:Everyone would simply be left wondering why they'd experienced such a sudden urge to adopt a dinosaur, and how they'd managed to do it at light speed.
It's not light speed; we (everymolpy in the US, anyway) were promised a chicken in every pot back in 1928!
