Interestingly enough, I had an encounter with a ~1/2 cue long indigo snake in my back yard recently while hanging laundry.

To thunk is to have expressed gratitude for having had an idea.
Or, to have had an idea about having expressed gratitude.

The lure of the schizoblitz must be incredibly powerful now that the OTT is nearly 2500 newpages long. I don't think I would be able to do these bits of ketchup myself without knowing that I can return to the Now whenever I desire and molp around in present-dip conversation.

It is a well-known fact that molpysnakes have a thUNG for stickfeet:
Image

OTT Time Travel: Newpage 757
In which I continue to promote Africanist views and insist GLR was in error to use Madagascaran baobabbery:

BlitzGirl wrote:
mscha wrote:
BlitzGirl wrote: And that's true - it's possible that Randall drew the baobabs based off of photos he saw, not considering the specific kind of baobabs they were. He may have always intended them to be African.

Are you sure you wanna go there? Do you really think it is a good idea to suggest that the GLR is fallible?
[Ninja'd, in a way, by slinches, but going off in a different direction.]

I don't think it's a good idea, but at Times like these it becomes necessary to admit that even GLR mustards occasionally.

The Calabar python just fits too perfectly as molpysnakeB. Unlike the baobobs, which simply appeared in Time, the molpysnakeB has been specifically described by the Dialogue. Now I think the setting is meant to be on the greater continent of Africa, and not just Madagascar. This might reconcile the difficulties with the sun that led to the Cassinite Madagascar theory (though I'm not sure). And there are squirpys in Africa.

(We're still about a mip out from the Long Night and the realization of when Time is happening.)

Whoops.

I went to post the otter dip, and saw that I already had, but I only half remember what it was and everything was wet and there was music and rollercoasters, and my hat was different, and everyone was speaking northern...

In my confusion I must have tripped, fallen down the stairs to the basement, through this whirly-looking time portal (who left that there? No wonder people have difficulty getting out!) and ended up here, in a very :azule:ish period of the OTT, where I realised it was actually my Otter half all along.

Now ED's luxuriant eye hair is the other image I can't get out of my head.

I did something mustardy last night by locking myself out of the bedroom (steambottle).

I'm also bad at comaing on couches--but I am good at Waiting For It--so it ended up being a live-action reenactment of the Long Night (as I mentioned in the irc).

which leads to the first image from stuff discussed there--lockpicking practice with taixzo.

It's yuletide in the OTT. There are a lot of things to respond to, so If I don't get to it--don't worry, I love all you xuys.

First, our mystery author finally stops panning and gets to the interesting AfterTime stuff. The Forty set up camp, and Cuegan randomly set off on another expedition to GLR-knows-where. Bit epsilon, huh? But they'll be all right. or will they? stay tuned.

Frankly, I like making these sorts of riddles, but I hate/am at a loss for solving them.
Those sorts of things are never going to get very much interest unless you post in an ARG forum or something. So it's useless to complain about that.
People have responses, ketchup, and Outside stuff they need to do, and a riddle without clear direction or time constraints is somthing many can't really attempt because of that.

I really loved othercomic 1305 when it came out. the OTT gets more true to it every dip.

BlitzGirl wrote:We few, we molpish few, we girl-named OTTers.

This is actually a very interesting topic to me when blitzing. Like Vi Hart, among others, pointed out, some people feel gender much more strongly than others. Mine isn't that strong--and it changes often--so those names come from quite a different perspective than mine. (sand grains?)

We have "-girl" names (Blitz, buffy, apply, veloCity),
also "-man" names (Karmann, ergman, manvandmaan (sp?),
and a few "'-cat"s (MistyCat, Gingercat, CasCat, CameronCat, Kit.)

Though don't confuse the two, or you'll end up with a KarCat yelling at you for a seaish amount of time.

The chorus (second paragraph), is of course, inserted after every verse, as usual.
The rest of the lyrics are as one might think them to be.

Don't be too hard on her... a sea otter damn is what a sea otter says when xe can't get up the cotterdamerungs and into the water. That is, it's a ch*rp.

What also ch*rps in water?

That's right, raptors.

Ducks are raptors.

Otters and ducks are common alternatives in xkcd surveys, and surveys are necessary for proper structures that hold back water.

However, the GLR did not (to my knowledge) conduct a survey before deciding to embark on the creation of Time; this is probably why the dam failed.

She probably doesn't the cotterdam to fail. So she decided, at great cost to herself, to refrain from instantiating even a bit of that meme. Especially if it's in C. Or in Python

Despite this, nothing lasts forever. The dam will decay, and the inevitable will occur.

The question is.... where?

When I was a kid, (3d grade? about 8 years old?) a friend saw an ad for skinks. You could get them for 25c each, did anybody want in? (I guess they came as a pack of five or something). I opted in, followed the First Commandment, and in the end, got my skink. Mine lasted the longest... I later found out that it was a "problem skink" (it kept getting away) and that's why they gave it to me. I bet that's why it lasted. It had the zest for life. We also had fish, and we fed the fish mealworms (I just now discovered they are the larvae of the mealworm beetle). (At least I thnk that's what I remember we did with them; they were tropical fish and it seems an odd thing to feed them) So one day I gave my skink a mealworm. It died soon thereafter. My suspicion is that it was the mealworm, but I can't prove it. I wonder how long it would have lasted had I not done that.

Jose; No eight year old child can provide expert care.

So that's where Stripy went.

We have pet lizards, but not really. Just some we've come to know. One lives inside the window screen, so we watch her from inside. Comes and goes through a hole, but if we open the window, just stays there, doesn't come inside.

And one lives inside a fence pole. I call him Jack. Because he likes to stand on the post and lean out, in an "I'm King of the World" pose.

Neither of those are skinks, but skinks do live here. That kind, and this kind.

009.JPG

I'm not scared of snakes, but I'm scared that the wolpies aren't scared of them. The skinks will only be a problem if the wolpies eat them, but they run away, so I don't think I need to worry about that. But the snakes might attack. So far I've only seen good snakes, but the others are here.

Along with spiders and plants that would also try to kill us. (I'm told I live in the Australia of the U.S.)

Debasementing for a bit to say that I've been dealing with a seaish amount of life-mustard over the last yip and a half. Most of it has come to some sort of resolution, so now there's only a riverish amount left, and things are looking up. I was glad to see that the OTT was the #2 thread on the ICT list, meaning it's still at least somewhat active, so I look forward to rejoining y'all in the future at some point.

I just realized that there's not really a better way to say "life-mustard", even in outside-speak. Interesting.

Anyways, molpy on, y'all!

Indeed, molpy on. All methods of debasementing are correct, as long as they lead you to the OTT.

A new Blitzer? In 3 A.T.??? Awesomeful! :D

SBN wrote:I use life-m*stard pretty often, actually. Glad yours is getting cleaned up. And yes, we're activish here, so join us when you can.

I feel like I've used the phrase myself in the past. It just never dawned on me that there's not really any good Outside-speak equivalent for it, or at least none that I could recall when pondering it earlier todip.

Anyway, as stated in my "Location", I'm technically supposed to be on NP 2130 right now. In molpish news, forums.xkcd.com is not blocked by my new employer's filters. In less molpish news, CM.com, mrob.com, www.xkcd.com, and pretty much everything else awesomeful ARE blocked by my new employer's filters. So I can do some Blitzing at my desk, but it will feel somewhat incomplete, so I'll have to figure something out.

That leaves one question: to SchizoBlitz, or not to SchizoBlitz......

A few days after we got the skinks, people were saying that theirs had died, but mine was going strong. It had tried to escape (and I think it even succeeded several times); we finally secured it with netting over the top of the goldfish bowl it was in. When mine had outlasted everyone else's, that's when they told me it was a "problem skink".

It could have been the worm. (In fact, I'm pretty sure it was - I think we also lost some fish from that batch of mealworms.) However, I'm sure the trip from wherever the skinks had been harvested didn't do it any favors either. I'm not sure about these mail-order petshops that advertise(d) in kids magazines.

macraw83 wrote:I just realized that there's not really a better way to say "life-mustard", even in outside-speak. Interesting.
Life-mustard is such a perfect term; it needs to be exported into the Outside. It also needs to be needed less. Wouldn't that be molpish!

Eternal Density wrote:Jose, I repeatedly selectively missed specific instances of the letter k in your post, so I was wondering why sinks were sold for only 25c, even problem sinks.
skinks are 25c. sinks are 25kc. In olden times they sold skins too, but I don't know what they cost.
