My second ever trad lead (for those of you to whom that will mean something), a 5.9+ called Gilgamek's Vagina. I was unconvinced that whole tape gloves would be necessary (and didn't want to take the time to put them on) so I just wrapped my knuckles. I was mistaken.

Nice rack!

Good luck.
Do you know if anyone's going to be video taping it?

I know the show producers tape it and make DVDs of the event, so yeah, someone will tape it. I'll throw my fight up somewhere on the interwebs afterwards and link to it.

P.S.- I just found out my ticket, and I'm up against someone that has way more fight experience (I have only 1 fight, he has 6), and he's choked out his last 5 opponents, oh crap. AND I have my thesis defense exactly 1 week after the fight. Yay for bad planning. I swear, if I have a black eye or copious bruising, sigh....

I'll look forward to the video.
Make sure to fight YOUR fight. Not his. If he's good on the ground and you're not, keep the fight up on your feet.
Pound it out with your hands, feet, knees, and elbows.

Don't worry about the Thesis Defense. You're already either going to be ready at that point, or not. So don't worry. Having a black eye won't be such a big deal (I had one from my first Dan black belt test while I took the initial interview for this job i'm at now...if you have to, make something up...I ran into a door...my girlfriend beats me) that is unless your board are militant pacifists :)

It took me a year and a half to get that hair, and I'm very proud of how I look now compared to before then. I am considering dropping the goatee and keeping the 'stache.

At a place called the Burn House, near Edzell. It's about midway between Aberdeen and Dundee. I believe it's owned by Goodenough College.

In general more beautiful people tend to post more pics on fora.

And tho I mean this as a way of comforting Fruit Swing, I hope I'm not insulting anyone by implying they are vain, because that is not what I mean. If you're comfortable with the way you look you don't mind being photographed more often so that there are actually more (nice looking - because of comfort) pictures of yourself.

hm. I hope I'm not misunderstood :?

I think its closer to the fact that more beautiful people get comments, and they get their pictures quoted more. Though, that sort of ego boost would probably drive you to post more pics anyway. Of course, some people also take more pictures of themselves than others (for whatever reason), and have more stuff to post. :P

I think that people who consider themselves good looking are more likely to post a pic. Or rather, people who don't think of themselves as good looking are unlikely to post a pic.

I haven't posted a pic of my face for a while. So here is one stolen from a FaceBook page without permission:

I don't even know if epically is a word. Firefox seems to think so, so that's good enough for me.
