In President Bush's mind, discussion and negotiation with an enemy country is appeasement. Hey, aren't we doing that to North Korea by giving them aid in exchange for information on their nukes, only two years after the White House said they wouldn't use "flowers and chocolates" on them like Clinton did?

John McCain chimed in and said that Ronald Reagan never negotiated with Iran and called on him to explain his weird "talking before going to war" policy to the American people. I guess he forgot, you know, Reagan admitting that he traded arms for hostages. Surely this will rally the Democrats together after the primaries, right?
