What's the first xkcd comic you read?

Postby Earlz » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:20 pm UTC

pretty simple question. I'm aware that most people would have a difficult time with this.. like I went back and read from 1 to like current(which then was either 300 or 400s) but I think the first comic I read was somewhere around http://xkcd.com/276/

The first one I ever read was Grownups. It's still my favorite :3 My boyfriend linked me to that one because it apparently seemed like something I'd do [which I completely would].

Hahaha. That so reminds me of you!

My facebook friend linked to this: http://xkcd.com/123/ , which I thought was hilarious. I think the one that was up at the time I discovered the comic was Trolling, which I totally didn't get at the time.

I read this when linked to me, and bookmarked xkcd for a day, before forgetting about it and deleting it. I didn't know if it was still running or not because I only saw that one and it didn't go through my mind at the time to press next.

I got linked again, went back and read all of them, realized what I did, and then started reading daily around 400.

It's been nearly two years, so I don't remember. I believe it was via the link on Slashdot's main page.

It was a while back, but I remember my old roommate linking me to Useless, Angular Momentum and Grownups just to get a taste of it all.

I don't remember the first one I read. It was a long while ago.

I do remember the first one I sent to a friend who's now at MIT (or was, last time I owed him an email). It was 290.

I remember seeing 149, 138, and 171 in a magazine article or something, but I didn't actually come here until a year or two later. I don't know which one I first saw online.

Powers of One was the first one I read. I think it was a link from the Wikipedia article on Powers of Ten.

oh wait. I've been reading xkcd a long time!

I can trace it back to at least http://xkcd.com/132/ where I have posted on my website http://earlz.biz.tm/old_site/ on April 21st, 2007. I can't confirm that this was around the original date the comic was posted, as the forum topic for it wasn't created until May, but I'm sure this was the one that got me started reading xkcd..

I started reading regularly at Snakes on a Plane, but I had seen a few of the strips before that.

Not sure what the first one I actually read was, as I've seen them off and on for ages. Cuttlefish is the one that got me addicted, though.

Either Sandwich or Guitar Hero. Uploaded to an RT user's image gallery, only found the site years later, had to have started reading steadily around Turing Test, because I remember reading Choices in an archive read through and feeling joy when I was able to read 1337 in real-time.

my first was wikipedian protester

I was reading through the wikipedia article on itself, and saw it, and thought it was cool. I had soon crunched through the entire archive.

Not sure what the first one I saw was though. I can't believe it's been that long D:

I recall that soon after i started following the comic, http://xkcd.com/435/ came out.

I don't recall what the first comic i read was though. I remember being introduced to xkcd by a mission in TheNethernet, (then PMOG), so I'm sure that it was one of the better ones.

I think I probably saw alot of these 'amusing stick-figure cartoons' posted in different places around the internet before I finally cottoned-on to the fact they all came from a single source.
Also available on rationalia.
